I would like to know if any of you guys are running 17's with a 45mm offset? I have a chance to buy some C2's but I don't want them rubbing at all. I think my Enkei's are 42mm but I knew if anyone would know, they would have to be on this board. Also, what is the best price you guys have seen on the C2 Evo's? Thanks for the help.

Well, just ask the "WHEELKING" !!!
Actually Javin, the 45mm wheels will work just fine if they are 7 or 7.5 inches wide.
You can check this yourself by using the current wheel on the car... and mathematically calculating the difference in backspacing.
For example, lets use your 16x7 Enkei's with a 42mm offset. This means that the mounting surface (the part of the wheel that touches the brake rotor) is 42mm closer to the face from the imaginary centerline. Know that 0mm on a 7" wide wheel is a 4" backsetting: that is (7" / 2) plus the lip, which is usually about 1/2 inch. So, add 42mm to this and you get a backspacing of 5 11/16". Now, lets say that 17" C2 Evolution you mentioned is 7.5 inches wide... and has a 45mm offset. This means that it has a backspacing of 6" ((7.5" / 2) + lip (1/2") + 45mm (1 3/4")). This said, the difference in backspacing is only 5/16", so you can turn your front wheels full lock both ways and measure this distance from the back of the tire in all directions... if nothing touches, then there is no rear interference. Check the rear strut and lower control arm as well.

Now, you can check the front by calculating the front side difference. If the wheel chosen is 1/2" wider than what you have now, and 5/16" of this width is on the back, then the other 3/16" is on the front. Measure this distance from the frontside of the tire to make sure that it does not interfere with the fenders front or rear.

Well i have a 95 Teg RS, and my 17x7 Enkei RP-01's have a 40mm offset... and it's TIGHT... the rear wheels are the tightest... Went i originally got them, i didnt believe the doods at the shop who said they wouldnt rub... so we put 1 one to test it out ... by looking at the stance and clearance you'd swear it would hit... but amazingly enough, the camber increases just enought for the wheel to slip into the well..

I doubt you'll have any probs with 45 mm offset... ooh but hmmm.. you're looking at 7.5" width rims right ? Not sure..

I am running a 46 offset (17X7 Kosei) w/ 215/40-17's and it is TIGHT! Can not even get a credit card between the tire and the fender well.

Note: this is with 215's and not 205's like most people run

    My 2 cents

Thanks for all the replies guys. If I get the wheels that I want I will have to run the 215's since they will be 7.5 inches wide. I think I should be ok with the 45mm offset but the wheels that I really want (second option after the C2's) are gonna be 40mm so no problems there. Thanks again and feel free to keep the post coming.
